The Defence Space Administration (DSA) on 29 January hosted the Chief of Communication Information Systems (CCIS), Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal DD Pwajok, and his delegation on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in communication, information systems, and space-related initiatives. The DSA leadership described the visit as a significant step toward deepening inter-agency cooperation in key operational domains.

In his remarks, Air Vice Marshal Pwajok expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Major General PO Ilodibia, for the warm reception. He commended the DSA for sustained collaboration over the years, particularly in knowledge sharing, the Map Share Application, and manpower development initiatives, noting that these efforts have significantly enhanced capacity in both organizations. He emphasized the need for a closer, mutually beneficial relationship as both institutions work to develop space-specialized manpower and build space assets for the Armed Forces, adding that stronger synergy would help optimize resources amid the high cost of space technology. He also expressed interest in participating in the CDSA’s quarterly mission meetings that bring together space experts.

The visit featured an interactive session where Directors from DSA’s operational directorates briefed the delegation on their activities, achievements, and projections for the year. In his remarks, Major General Ilodibia appreciated the CCIS for deploying highly professional officers to the DSA, noting that their conduct reflects the standards of the Nigerian Air Force. He reiterated that the DSA’s core mandate is to support the Armed Forces and stated that his leadership focus has been on repositioning the Administration to better align with operational requirements, highlighting the Modular Earth Observation Outpost as a key initiative.

The CDSA further disclosed that the Administration is intensifying research efforts to provide direct support to enhance Nigerian Air Force operations. On capability development, he assured the delegation of continued collaboration, including expanded manpower development programmes.

The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and group photographs as symbols of goodwill and partnership. Overall, the engagement underscored the shared commitment of the Defence Space Administration and the Nigerian Air Force to strengthening institutional ties and advancing national defence capabilities through improved communication, information systems, and space-based solutions.
