DEFENCE SPACE ADMINISTRATION HOLDS DECORATION CEREMONY FOR NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS

The Defence Space Administration (DSA) held a decoration ceremony in honour of newly promoted officers, with staff, family members, and well-wishers in attendance to celebrate the significant milestone.

The officers decorated at the ceremony were Major SM Tasiu, Major SO Obi, Major ZA Dada, Squadron Leader GF Ayeyemi, and Major MO Evuakpor, who were elevated to the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel and Wing Commander, respectively. The ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Major General PO Ilodibia.

The promotions reflect the officers’ exemplary service record, professionalism, and invaluable contributions to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the continued advancement of the Defence Space Administration’s mandate.

In his remarks, the Director of Policy, Planning and Research, Major General I Otu, congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to continue building a reputation defined by integrity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal relationships, noting that character remains a lasting reflection of leadership.

Also speaking at the event, the Brigadier General AH Ibrahim congratulated the officers and urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity and discipline. He further emphasized the importance of prayerfulness, adequate preparation, and continuous personal development as essential qualities for effective leadership and career progression.

In his closing remarks, the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Major General PO Ilodibia, commended the officers for their dedication, loyalty, and commitment to duty. He encouraged them to continue demonstrating excellence in service while leading by example in their new capacities. The CDSA also stressed the importance of fostering strong professional relationships and maintaining the core values of the Armed Forces.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Lieutenant Colonel SM Tasiu delivered the vote of thanks, expressing profound gratitude to Almighty God, the leadership of the DSA, colleagues, family members, and all well-wishers who graced the occasion. He reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the service of the nation and the discharge of their responsibilities.

The ceremony featured the symbolic decoration of ranks, goodwill messages from senior officers and guests, as well as a group photograph session to commemorate the memorable occasion.
