Day Two Of The Defence Space Administration Seminar 2024.

The Defence Space Administration kicked off the Day two of the DSA 2024 Seminar on a high note, with a presentation by Miss Esther Imeze, a Space Science and Technology officer with the Directorate of Earth Observation.  The lecture was on the topic; Emerging Geospatial-Intelligence technologies for enhanced National Security.

This focused on Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT ) technology. Participants were made to understand that GEOINT is a multidisciplinary field that involves the collection, analysis and interpretation of geospatial data to provide insights and support decision-making across various sectors.

The presenter also went ahead to talk about Geospatial Artificial Intelligence and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Miss Imeze went further to buttress points she made with the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles recently acquired by the Administration. The presentation ended with an interactive session where grey areas were cleared and recommendations made on ways to make the paper better.

The Seminar dovetailed into the second lecture.

The second lecture was on the topic; Advancement of Rocket Technology in DSA for enhanced National Security in Nigeria which was delivered by Mrs Amao Abiodun Olaitan, an Engineering Officer with the Directorate of launch Services and Space Operations.

The lecture was aimed at acquainting the audience with the advancement of Rocket technology in DSA for enhanced National Security in Nigeria.

She went further to take the audience through the history of Rocket development in DSA to enhance National Security and also showcased the Directorate of Launch Services and Space Operation’s Research and development activities and efforts in Space innovation and development. This session was concluded by the presenter emphasizing that Rockets can serve as a reliable means of defence, enabling Nigeria to protect her borders, and safeguard National interests.

The Seminar ended with an interactive session and presentation of souvenirs to the panellist and the resource person.

The Representative of Chief of the Naval Staff Rear Admiral SD El- Ladan gave the closing remarks by expressing gratitude to the CDSA for organising such an enlightening Seminar.
