DEFENCE SPACE ADMINISTRATION OFFICERS WIVES ASSOCIATION (DSAOWA) CONDUCTS FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH AND PRESENTATION OF PALLIATIVES TO COMMUNITIES IN AMAC
The Coordinator and special guest of honour, Defence Space Administration Officers Wives Association (DSAOWA) held her end of the year medical outreach and presentation of palliatives at the Wukara and Kyami communities in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on the 20th of December, 2023 with the theme “Promoting Community Health and Wellbeing”.
Hajia Murjanat Shinkafi, in her welcome address stated that the association is a non-governmental organization established in 2019 to promote the welfare and wellbeing of members, the public and the less privileged in the society. Hajia Shinkafi further more stated that DSAOWA therefore deemed it necessary to conduct this year’s free medical outreach and presentation of palliatives in communities that have not benefitted from the DSAOWA’s health and humanitarian services.
The auspicious occasion welcomed dignitaries such as the Chief of Defence Space Administration AVM AA Shinkafi, the representative of the Coordinator Nigeria Airforce Officers Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs Rakiya Abubakar, the Coordinator of Defence Intelligence Officers Wives Association (DIAOWA), Mrs Jane Undiandeye, the Coordinator, Military Pension Board Officers Wives Association (MPBOWA), Mrs Elizabeth Irumheson, the Directors of the Defence Space Administration, and the community heads of the communities.
Highlight of the occasion are activities such as health talk conducted by Nurse Hafsat Mohammed Sani, administration of Albendazole (a worm expellant) to children by the special guest of honour, Hajia Murjanat Shinkafi, distribution of palliatives such as mosquito nets, and food items to the host communities. It was an entertaining event as the Gbagyi cultural dancers mesmerized the audience.
