The Directorate of Launch Service and Space Operations conducted the November edition of the Defence Space Administration’s Monthly Lecture Series, centered on the theme, Achieving Space Mission through Rocket Technology: SIDC in Perspective

The seminar commenced with an opening remarks by the  Director Launch Service and Space Operations, AVM GA Mbaka. In his remarks welcomed the Chief of the Space Administration and all in attendance; he stated that DSA has achieved a lot of successes in rocket launches, he went on to describe SIDC Epe as the future of Rocket and Space Technological development in Nigeria.

The session included a comprehensive presentation by Engr David Ejomot Aquah, a Space Science and Technology Officer Grade I from the hosting directorate. He provided in-depth insights into Space missions and Rocket Launches by DSA as well as sister Agencies within Nigeria.

The lecture transitioned into an interactive discussion.

It was moderated by Major EA Akawu, and included insights from our guest discussant Dr E.O Oyedeji; the Director Research NASRDA, Engr Agim Friday Akamkebe from the hosting directorate, and the presenter, Engr David Ejomot Aquah. The panellists responded to questions from the audience, offering further clarification on key issues that provided the attendees with valuable insights.

The lecture concluded with closing remarks from the Director Cyber Security, Rear Admiral SA Yahaya on behalf of the CDSA, AVM LI Oluwatoyin. He offered insightful comments on the topic, emphasizing the importance of collaborations and training. Additionally, he commended the Directorate of Launch Service and Space Operations for organizing a successful and impactful seminar.

The event was then brought to a close with a vote of thanks by Miss Becky Amego who expressed sincere gratitude to all participants and contributors.
