The Defence Space Administration (DSA) marked a significant milestone with the commissioning of its Space Air Vehicles Systems Development Laboratory and Dental Clinic Unit. The event, graced by the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar DFS, as the Special Guest of Honour (SGOH), underscored the Defence Space Administration’s commitment to advancing its technological capabilities and prioritizing the well-being of its personnel. It also has in present, the pioneer Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal TV Udoh (rtd), and other invited guests.


The auspicious event began with an opening remarks by the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA) Air Vice Marshal LI Oluwatoyin, In his address, the CDSA expressed his delight at the presence of the Chief of Air Staff and other distinguished guests who honored the occasion. He emphasized that the commissioning of the laboratories signifies the The administration’s strategic focus on enhancing its capabilities in space and air operations.
The CDSA highlighted that the Space Air Vehicles Systems Development Laboratory would empower staff to develop advanced systems to boost operational readiness through research and innovation. Additionally, he noted that the opening of the Dental Clinic underscores the DSA’s commitment to the health and well-being of its personnel. He emphasized saying “a healthy mind and body are vital for fostering a resilient and effective force.”


Following the CDSA’s remarks, a short documentary was screened, showcasing the achievements of the Administration.
The Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal HB Abubakar DFS in his address, expressed his pleasure as the SGOH witnessing the ceremony. He described the inauguration of the Space Air Vehicles Systems Development Laboratory as a significant step toward achieving indigenous capabilities for designing, developing, and maintaining aerial platforms for space applications and national defence. He noted that this effort strengthens national security and reflects the Administration’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancement.
The CAS also commended the commissioning of the Dental Clinic, stating that it demonstrates the administration’s recognition of the importance of personnel welfare. He added, “A healthy force is indeed a strong force.” He concluded by applauding the visionary leadership of the Chief of Defence Space Administration for conceptualizing and executing these critical projects, which align seamlessly with the broader strategic objectives of the Nigerian Armed Forces.


The event reached its climax with the commissioning of the laboratory and dental clinic by the Chief of Air Staff, accompanied by the Chief of Defence Space Administration, the Deputy Chief of Defence Space Administration, Directors, distinguished guests and staff of the Administration.
The ceremony was concluded with a guided tour of the Defence Space Administration facilities and, thereafter, the group photograph.
