Seven senior naval officers were on 5 December 2025 decorated with their new ranks during a distinguished “shipping of stripes” ceremony held at the Defence Space Administration (DSA) Complex in Abuja.
The officers promoted to the rank of Captain are Navy Captains AA Adukanya, DB Nmadu, and CE Agbo, while those elevated to the prestigious rank of Commodore include CC Ali, KO Olanrewaju, U Egweh, and CE Iso. The highlight of the ceremony was the traditional unveiling and wetting of the new ranks, symbolizing a significant step forward in their military careers.

In a congratulatory Remarks, Commodore CA Obika congratulated the newly decorated officers and offered professional guidance suitable for their next level of responsibility. The Deputy Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal JA Laoye, also encouraged them to remain dedicated to their duties while maintaining harmony in their personal lives.
In his address, the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Major General PO Ilodibia, underscored the importance of leadership grounded in character and sound judgement . He urged the officers to embody the principles of servant leadership as they assume greater command roles.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the newly decorated officers Commodore CC Ali expressed deep appreciation to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, for the confidence reposed in them. He further thanked the CDSA, senior officers, colleagues, and family members for their continuous support, pledging their collective commitment to duty and service.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, directors, staff, and family members, and concluded with an official group photograph capturing the joy and significance of the occasion.
