DSA Corps Members Lead Tree Planting Drive in Kyami

In a remarkable display of environmental consciousness and civic responsibility, Corps Members serving with the Defence Space Administration (DSA) have launched a tree planting initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and combating climate change within the DSA Town, Kyami.

The event, held as part of the 2024/2025 service year activities, drew participation from the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Air Vice Marshal L.I. Oluwatoyin, the Deputy CDSA, senior directors, and youth corps members.

Commending the initiative, Air Vice Marshal Oluwatoyin praised the Corps Members for their proactive efforts toward environmental stewardship. “This project is a commendable step towards creating a greener and healthier environment,” he said. “I am proud of the Corps Members for taking this initiative and for the spirit of service they continue to demonstrate.”

The symbolic planting of the first two trees was carried out by the CDSA, followed by the Deputy CDSA and other senior officials, underscoring the leadership’s commitment to the green campaign.

In her opening remarks, the Corps Liaison Officer (CLO), Miss Bilkisu Garba, emphasized the importance of the initiative in addressing climate change and beautifying the DSA community. She expressed heartfelt gratitude to the CDSA for his constant support and to the Corps Members for their enthusiasm and dedication.

The former CLO, Mr. Kingsley Kalu, delivered a vote of thanks on behalf of the Corps Members, appreciating all dignitaries and participants for their support and presence at the event.

The exercise concluded with a group photograph, capturing the spirit of collaboration and environmental responsibility that defined the event.

The DSA tree planting initiative not only marks a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability but also reflects the growing role of youth in National development.
