Chairman House Of Committee On Defence Visits DSA

The Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal Lanre Ibrahim Oluwatoyin, and the principal staff hosted the Chairman of House Committee on Defence Babajimi Benson, with his distinguished honorable members on an oversight visit to the Administration.

During the visit, the director of logistics, Rear Admiral SA Abullahi, gave a detailed presentation on DSA’s activities. This included establishing the administration, major achievements, challenges, and future objectives.

Honourable Babajimi Benson, in his remarks, recognised that the visit is critical to strengthening service delivery within the defence sector, and the exercise is approached with a deep commitment to support and enhance DSA’S mission, adding that the purpose of their visit is constructive and focused on ensuring that the Defence institutions receive the support they need to meet the expectations of Nigerians.

The chairman also highlighted that the Defence Space Administration holds a critical milestone for Nigeria; being the first military agency on the African continent with a dedicated space program, he concluded that DSA’s role in providing satellite intelligence, communications, and surveillance is indispensable, and these capabilities must be continually expanded and updated. He mentioned that the House has introduced innovative legislation aimed at revolutionizing and funding the Nigerian defence sector.

The visit was brought close with a tour of the administration.
