The Peace Building Development Consult (PBDC) in patnership with the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) are excited to have completed the Leadership Course on Data Mining and Geospatial Intelligence at the Defence Space Administration, Abuja. It was a great learning experience with over 60 participants from different agencies and representatives from different state governments.
The course highlighted the importance of data mining and geospatial intelligence in the context of national security and economic growth. It provided a platform for experts from different sectors to discuss cutting-edge technologies, emerging trends, and innovative applications that make these technologies indispensable in today’s rapidly evolving security landscape.
The participants were from various military, security, and other sensitive government agencies, as well as academia, the private sector, and NGOs. Some of these agencies include the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air force, NFIU, NBS, DSA, Customs, NASRDA Nigerian Intelligence Agency, and Staff Members of state governments from Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Edo, Gombe and Abia.
The resource persons and chairpersons of sessions were highly experienced experts from different fields, including the former Chief of the Air Staff Air Marshal I. O. Amao and other retired millitary personnel and academia. They shared their diverse perspectives on the significance of data mining and GEOINT in addressing various security and economic challenges in Nigeria.
