The Defence Space Administration (DSA) football team known as the DSA Stars played a novelty football match with the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) team at the NASRDA football field on the 20th December, 2023.
The NASRDA Director of Sport, Dr Musa James gave the opening address. He stated that the match is to encourage friendship between DSA and NASRDA and to boost physical fitness. The match commence immediately after Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA) Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi kick start the match.
It was an entertaining match filled energy, grit and vigour with the exceptional commentary delivered by Corporal Uhruhweya ME as the both team played at their best. The novelty match ended with 1-0 win scored by Mr Abiodun Aboloarinwa in the Directorate of Earth Observation, thus asserting DSA the winner.
According to the CDSA in the closing remarks, NASRDA and DSA are major stakeholders crucial to the Nigerian project. AVM AA Shinkafi said the match will the friendship that already exists between the two organizations, as it will enable better collaboration and cooperation.
The match ended with the presentation of medals by the CDSA as well as cash gifts to both teams.
