The Chairman of National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa, today 22nd January 2024 welcomed the Chief of Defence Space Administration, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Abdullahi Shinkaffi and his team during a courtesy visit at the NPC Headquarters, Abuja.
The Chief of Defence Space Administration commended NPC for its remarkable achievements in data generation, especially the national geospatial data repository and expressed DSA’s interest in collaborating with the Commission to further improve data integrity for evidence-based planning and national development.
Specifically, the Chief of Defence Space Administration highlighted possible areas of interest for collaboration to include information sharing through technology integration and capacity building.
In response, NPC Chairman, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra expressed gratitude for the visit, emphasizing the importance of enhancing cooperation between NPC and Defence Space Administration.
As a strategic next step, the NPC Chairman proposed the immediate constitution of a joint technical committee for swift implementation of the collaboration. He further underscores the potential for NPC and Defence Space Administration to be formidable allies in the fight against insecurity in the country through the provision and sharing of data for planning.
