On June 11, 2025, the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Air Vice Marshal L. I. Oluwatoyin, alongside the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), Dr. Matthew Olumide Adepoju, warmly received the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Wahab Olasupo Egbewole (SAN), and his delegation at the CDSA Conference Room in Abuja.



In his opening remarks, Professor Egbewole expressed appreciation to the CDSA for the warm reception and outlined the purpose of the visit — to foster strategic collaboration between the University of Ilorin, the Defence Space Administration, and NASRDA. He emphasized the University’s commitment to becoming a hub for space-related research and innovation and called for deeper collaboration, particularly between the DSA Directorate of Cybersecurity and the University’s Centre for Cybersecurity and Development.

Responding, the Director General of NASRDA, Dr. Adepoju, commended Air Vice Marshal Oluwatoyin for his dedication to advancing Nigeria’s space agenda and for his role in promoting harmony within the space ecosystem. He also praised Professor Egbewole for upholding the University of Ilorin’s reputation for academic excellence and innovation.
In his closing remarks, Air Vice Marshal Oluwatoyin noted that the visit represented a significant step in strengthening a tripartite partnership among NASRDA, the DSA, and the University of Ilorin. He welcomed the prospect of enhanced synergy in areas of mutual interest, particularly space technology and cybersecurity.
The event concluded with the signing of the visitors’ register, a group photograph, and a guided tour of the DSA facility.
