The Director of Administration, Maj Gen EA Anaryu, kicked off the ceremony with a warm welcome, highlighting the significance of the event as a major milestone in the careers of the newly promoted officers.
The Chief of Defence Space Administration, AVM LI Oluwatoyin in his remarks, acknowledged the officers’ hard work and dedication to achieving the Administration’s goals and objectives. He also emphasized the importance of upholding the values of hard work and discipline, urging the officers to continue striving for excellence.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General CG Musa, was also present at the decoration ceremony of the newly promoted five senior officers serving with the Defence Space Administration on January 10, 2025.
The event, which was held at the Gen Irabor Hall, celebrated the promotion of three Colonels to the rank of Brigadier General, one Lieutenant Colonel to Colonel and a Commander to Navy Captain respectively.
In his remarks, General Musa commended the officers for their dedication to the service and urged them to uphold the high standards expected of their new ranks. The newly promoted senior officers were Colonel GE Archibong, Colonel SI Odoma, and Colonel P Elayo, who were elevated to the rank of Brigadier General, Lt Col OW Offiong to Colonel and Commander A Mohammed to Navy Captain.
The Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, representing the state Governor, applauded the Armed Forces for their efforts in fostering peace in the state and across the country.
Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the decorated officers, Brig Gen P Elayo expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the CDS and other guests for attending the ceremony, pledging their continued dedication to national service.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, staff of the Defence Space Administration, and family members of the honorees featured the symbolic attachment of new ranks, a group photograph, and a well reception.
