The Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) LI Oluwatoyin on Monday 18 November 2024 received a team from the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) at the Defence Space Administration (DSA)to discuss Space Situational Awareness (SSA) information sharing between Nigeria and the United States.
According to the team leader, Jenna Dubytskyi, the visit is part of the processes involved in establishing a partnership between USSPACECOM and DSA, which will focus on information sharing to enhance the safety, and security of space.
Jenna Dubytskyi also gave a brief on the activities of USSPACECOM which include space operations, global sensor management, trans-regional missile defense, global SATCOM management and provision of Space joint force. Similarly, the USSPACECOM team was briefed on the activities of DSA, stating its mission to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies with relevant space products and solutions as well as DSA’s role in facilitating and implementing the defence and security aspects of the National Space Policy.
