The Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Air Vice Marshal LI Oluwatoyin, inaugurated a 5-day Introductory Course on Space for Senior Military Officers of the DSA. The Inaugural ceremony took place in Armed Forces Officers Mess, Asokoro, Abuja.
The Course commenced when Air Vice Marshal Charles Otegbade (rtd) acquainted the participants with the modules and topics of the Course and also took the participants through online lectures and thereafter the CDSA inaugurated the Course proper.
In his inaugural speech, the CDSA commended the organizers and facilitators of the Course for their efforts and contributions in making the program a reality. The CDSA disclosed that the course is in line with the Administration’s mandate “to support the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies with relevant space products and solutions necessary for the conduct of operations in peace and wartime in line with the National Space Policy and Programme.” According to AVM Oluwatoyin “We are all managers of resources that will assist in the attainment of this mandate and we have responsibilities to discharge in this regard, requisite knowledge of space is required to discharge this responsibility effectively.”
The CDSA also noted that the Nation has made giant strides in space related activities especially in this era of rapid technological advancement. He urged the participants to fully engage in the training programme as to transform knowledge into action.
The climax of the ceremony was interactive session
