On September 9, 2024, the Chief of Defence Space Administration (CDSA), Air Vice Marshal AA Shinkafi, commissioned the newly established crèche at the Defence Space Administration headquarters.
During the ceremony, AVM Shinkafi highlighted that the facility is specifically designed to meet the childcare needs of the Administration’s nursing Mothers by providing a safe and nurturing environment for their children while at work.
AVM Shinkafi stressed the importance of maintaining a work-life balance and underscored the crèche’s role in enhancing staff morale and productivity.
He also expressed that the initiative marks a major step towards creating a family-friendly workplace, enabling staff and officers to concentrate on their responsibilities while ensuring their children are well cared for.
It was noted at the event that admission to the crèche is available at a subsidized rate of ₦20,000 per child per month.
The commissioning was attended by senior officers, staff, and other dignitaries, who commended the effort to improve welfare services within the Administration.
